Baby Dedication and Adoption Finalization

Landon had a big day on Sunday. He was dedicated at church (and cried during the whole dedication)! But I do have to admit that was my fault. He hadn't eaten yet that morning because we usually wake him up, dress him, and then feed him at church. Well, his dedication was near the beginning of the service so I didn't want him to be eating or have to stop him from eating to take him up front. But then he cried. Lesson learned! :)
Then we also celebrated the Hahn/Berger/Clark Christmas here. Originally it was scheduled for Saturday night, but Matt, Nate, Robin, and Cathy came down with the flu so we rescheduled for Sunday night. We are so blessed that both sides of our family get along well enough to spend the holidays together!

Then on Tuesday, we headed down to Indianapolis for Landon's adoption finalization. We had to go before a judge and answer questions from our lawyer. It took less than 10 minutes and the adoption was final!! Now we are just waiting on Landon's birth certificate from Virginia so he can officially be a Hahn and then we need to get him a social security number. I do think we are finally done paying for the adoption though. Landon did SUCH a good job in the car. He slept almost the entire time we were driving until he got hungry on the way down. But then on the way home he slept the entire 3 hours! So we were very nervous about how he would sleep at night. But of course, he's such a good baby, he slept all night too! :) What a blessing he is to our family!

First Christmas

Landon has been such a trooper over the last week or so. We have been carting him around everywhere and he's just his laid back happy self! :) We celebrated Christmas with most of our family members and Landon, of course, got an abundance of gifts. He wasn't too interested in gifts this year, but we still had a good time. It is so wonderful to have family nearby (or fly into town) so we can celebrate Jesus' birth together each year. Below are some pictures of our many Christmas celebrations! I hope you all had a blessed Christmas too!

Car, books, and Christmas

I guess we are now officially in the market for a new car. After talking with our insurance and getting the estimate from the body shop, the car is hardly worth more than it will cost to fix it, so it's going to be totaled. Which was not good news for us, since we weren't in the market for a car or a car payment at this time! And we were hoping the car, which was 5 years newer, would outlast our SUV. But not so. So I guess we are keeping our eyes open for a used (but not abused) car! :) And we'll have to make a decision over break since I'll need a car to go back to work in Jan.
In other news, I just finished the book Twilight, which is what the movie by the same name is based on, and I really enjoyed it. I had my doubts being that it's about vampires and I'm not so much into that, but I really did like it and would recommend it to anyone looking for an easy read that's not violent or has profanity in it. I think I'll try to continue and read the rest of the series as well.
And finally, since it is Christmas Eve, just have to comment about how excited we are to celebrate with Landon this year (even though he has no clue what's going on!) and Kristina and Nate are home to celebrate as well. Merry Christmas! Love you all!

Shots and Baby #2

Landon had his 2 month immunizations today. I was glad that Matt was off of school so he could go with us, since I didn't know how Landon would react. We gave him tylenol before he went (thanks to the advice of my mom friends)! He did such a great job. He cried right after each of the 3 shots, but calmed down almost immediately and he's been pretty much his same happy self this afternoon. He seems a little more tired, but other than that he's doing fine. Matt says he's a champ! :)

I also had my monthly doctor's appointment this week. Everything's going well. I gained 1 pound (which is better than last month when I lost 2!) and the baby's heartbeat is strong. But the most exciting part is that I got to schedule my ultrasound appointment for Jan. 15th! That's when we should find out the gender of the baby and yes we will be sharing that.
So all babies are doing well and Matt and I are fine too. Have a great weekend!

Steaks or Hamburgers?

Well for 3 weeks now I have been trying to rejoin the choir at our church. I haven't gone since Landon was born. First off for being gone for a few weeks and then feeling sick. But the first week was cancelled because of Thanksgiving, the next week Matt had a Wednesday night meeting, and last night a cow got in the way. Yes, I said a cow. Matt hit a cow last night on his way home from work. It was about 6:30, so it was dark, the cow was black, and it was standing in the middle of the road. So needless to say, he didn't see it until it was too late. Matt is fine, minus being a little sore, but the cow was not! :) We found out it was our neighbor's cow and they picked it up with a skidloader and took it to get butchered. The car is pretty messed up too. The windshield broke and the front right side is pretty banged up, so it was towed to the repair shop. But thankfully all people involved were safe. So, add to the list of Matt's accidents: hitting a tree, hitting a girl on a lawnmower, and hitting a cow! :)

2 months old already!

I can't believe how fast Landon is growing (or how little I am on the computer even though I'm home all day.) Some days I'm lucky to get dressed, much less check my email. Landon always seems to get fussy when I start typing! :)
Anyway, Landon had his 2 month check up with the doctor on Tuesday and he's doing great! He weighs 12.2 pounds, which is in the 50th percentile, and is 24 in. long, which is in the 75 percentile. So he is on his way to being a tall, average build guy! :) He needs to get his immunizations too, which I'm NOT excited about, but we have to check with our insurance to see if they cover them or not. So, I'm sure that will be a fun day!
Landon enjoyed his first Thanksgiving, well he probably enjoyed the attention everyone paid him rather than the food! :) It was awesome to see Steven and Kristina for a few days, especially since Steven is leaving on Friday for Iraq. So keep them in your prayers.
And of course, I have to mention, it is Matt's 31st birthday today. He has a bball game tonight so we're not really doing anything special tonight. But we are tagging along with the twins on their bday to celebrate with them and Matt too! :)
Hope you all are having a great week!
