This year, the kids wanted to try soccer. It met for 5 Saturdays July through August and the kiddos learned basic skills and scrimmaged against another team. Emerson wasn't too thrilled with it. She is pretty unaggressive so she needed a lot of prodding to go chase after the ball. Landon on the other hand was really into it. He scored 4 or 5 goals in their last game (I lost count) and says it's his second favorite sport after football!
Emerson had been taking gymnastics and she really liked it, but when I asked her to choose between that and dance class, it was an obvious answer for her. She is taking a tap and ballet combo class in Nappanee and had her first class last Thursday. She is always very excited to try new things, until we actually get there and she gets really nervous. There were a few tears, but she made it through her first practice and liked it. All of the girls looked so adorable in their leotards and dance shoes! It is a closed practice until the last few minutes when the parents got to come in and see what they learned.

Kindergarten so far....
The kids were SUPER excited about starting school. They had been talking about it for weeks. So when the first day arrived, they were up right with their alarms and dressed in minutes. They both LOVE Kindergarten. When I ask them about the day, the usual response I get is "awesome", "so fun", "great"! I am so thankful that they are enjoying it and they even play school when they get home. Landon has Mrs. Hahn and Emerson has Miss Harnish. They both adore their teachers and are excited to tell me all of the things they learn each day. I hope that enthusiasm continues!
They are really tired when they get home and Emerson walked to her room in tears one day because she said she missed me and wanted to stay with me (I think she was just worn out). They have both been sick and missed a day of school, but through it all they have been happy.
