Upwards Cheerleading and Basketball

Landon is playing on the Trojan's team for Upwards this year.  He LOVES it!  He loves practicing, playing the game, and then usually comes home and shoots around in the basement for the rest of the afternoon.  It makes it even more fun because his friend, Micah, is on his team.  Matt is assistant coaching and I think he enjoys it too!

Emerson tried cheer for the first time.  She is on the Pom Pom Panthers and she is having a ball as well.  She likes learning the new cheers and every Thursday night at practice they have theme nights like crazy hair day, dress in all pink, princess night, etc.  She is having fun with her friends Tessa and Sammi.

On a Friday night near the end of the season, the Nappanee Missionary Church hosts Family Fun Night.  The kiddos get to bounce in bouncy houses, get face painting, balloon animals, go roller skating, and get nachos, snow cones, and popcorn.  They always have a ball!  It's such a great outreach that the church does for families.

We're down to one last game, next Saturday.  I know the kids will be sad to see it end.

Snow Day 2016

Well, I thought this winter may be one for the books.  As long as I can remember, we've never been able to have Martin Luther King Day and President's Day off.  We've always had to use one, or both, for a snow make up day.  This year, we didn't have a snow day until the end of February!  Pretty crazy!  It was an awesome snow, too.  Great for packing and building.  We all went out to play and build snowmen and forts (and Matt had to snow blow the drive).  The kids went out 3 times in 2 days, so they loved it!!  We are blessed to live where we can experience a great snowfall.

Olaf loves warm hugs!

Late December and January pictures

I may be a tad bit behind on blogging. :)  But as I'm home again with a sick kiddo (we've had a lot of gunk this year), I thought I'd try to catch up.
Mom had a special birthday at the end of December so on her special day, we met for breakfast in Mishawaka.  Since we were over there, we decided to take the kids to Strikes and Spares.  We had a great time!

Landon wanted to do it all by himself
Landon won 40 tickets at the arcade.  He's so proud! :)
On New Year's Eve, we stayed home and had a great family day.  The kids set up a game tournament where we kept track of points for each game and prizes were given out.  Landon and Emerson wanted to cook dinner all by themselves.  We had delicious homemade pizza and fancy drinks (sparkling grace juice and wine).

We surprised mom for her 70th birthday by throwing her a party and inviting some close friends and family.  Amazingly, she was very surprised! :)

Emmy is on a roll with losing teeth.  She's lost 4 so far!  I love it when those top teeth fall out and they get their "first grade smile"!
We got to babysit Caleb one Saturday while Kristina was at work trying to get caught up and planned.  Love his sweet smile.
Em got a Magic Mixer for Christmas and finally got it out a few weeks ago to make some...delicious??...treats.  They really weren't that good, but they were fun to make. :)
