So...I'm old

Ok, not really but I did turn 30 yesterday! We had a really nice day celebrating with family. We went to church with mom and dad and then celebrated the October birthdays on my mom's side. And get this cool fact. My grandpa turned 90 in Oct., my dad 60, I am 30, and Landon was just born. So we're all 30 years apart...how cool is that? :)

Halloween Theme : OBJECT

Alright, so this year the theme was difficult...maybe too difficult. Did it scare some of you away? :) We had our annual Halloween party on Saturday and had a great time as usual. It's always fun to see how creative people are with their costumes and how well they follow the theme. We ate lots of yummy food, played some games, and watched a scary movie (well, at least there were some scary parts in it! :) ). Below are some pictures of the night.
Landon with his costume on (even though he couldn't come to the party, he still had to dress up!) Matt's parents watched him for the evening.
What's a toilet without toilet paper?!?!
Twister and the big top...yes that's an elephant!
The seed corn twins!
The beet and the scarecrow
Can anyone guess what I was?? It took some clues, but Scott and John finally guessed! :)
Poor Logan didn't even get a costume this year...doesn't he look sad??
Winners: Most creative costume-Jessica and Best Overall -Jamie (and Matt tied with him)
And by the way, Landon's diaper rash is MUCH better, mostly gone. Thanks for all the great advice. We ended up sticking with Desitin and it cleared it up. YEAH!

Quick Update

Landon has had a busy few weeks since he's been home. He's gotten to meet many new friends like Grace, Tyler, Greyson, Gunnar, and Gretchen (too bad Tyler's name doesn't start with a G! ). He's also gotten a diaper rash :( which is so sad because his little bottom is so red and he screams when we change his diaper. Alright moms out there, what clears up diaper rash? I've tried Desitin and he just screams louder when we put that on! Other than that we are doing well. Matt goes back to work next week so we're trying to get everything done that we need to by the end of this week. How many people does it take to give a newborn a bath? 4 :) The boys hanging out on the couch.
Kristina, Landon does like his swing...sometimes!

Gotta love the grandparents! :)

Thank goodness for grandparents who live close by...
This weekend was not great for me. I had some stomach virus or something that was making me quite nauseous and not able to help Matt much with Landon. But thank goodness for the grandparents. Mom and Cathy came over on Saturday to help care for the baby and wash dishes, do laundry, etc. And then the grandpas joined the grandmas over on Sunday to watch the Bears game and help with the baby. It was sooo nice knowing that I could relax or sleep and Matt wasn't alone trying to take care of Landon all by himself. I know that he would've (he's a great daddy! :) ), but it's always nice to have some help. So a BIG thank you to the grandmas and grandpas and a BIG I'm sorry to all of you wonderful friends and family who called to come see the baby while I was sick. I felt bad to say no....but would've felt worse if you'd seen me! :) I hope now that I am turning the corner and we'll have smooth sailing from here!

We're home!!

It feels SOOO great to be home. I could hardly wait to open the door and walk in! :) You really appreciate a house when you're stuck in a hotel room with a newborn for a week!! Overall, things did move rather quickly, paperwork-wise. They told us to expect 7-10 business days and it only took 5, so I am thankful that we got to leave as soon as we did.
Mary did really well with us leaving, we went and visited her on our last day in Virginia and she took us on a back stage tour of the presidential helicopters. It was really neat and we were thankful that she set it up for us.
Last night after we got home, Landon got a bath (which he doesn't mind....so far!)
and the grandparents came over to meet their grandson (except Todd who is on a business trip :( ). They could hardly wait to come over and it was wonderful to see them FINALLY meet Landon.
I had to include a picture of the new aunt and uncle as well! :)

We've taken about 100 pictures of the little guy (and he's barely a week old), so I tried to narrow it down for my post! :)
