Summer recap:June

So now that school is starting next week, I suppose it's time to blog!  Oops!  I'll try to be brief, but I realized I have A LOT of pictures on my phone that I haven't put on here yet!
The first 4 are technically at the end of May.
This year we put up our pool again, but were smart about it and paid the
Wakarusa Fire Department to come fill it up.  So it was filled up in hours instead of days with water that isn't rusty.  The kids were swimming in the same day (although the water was pretty cold)!
Here are pictures from the last day of school, May 31st.  I swear these two grew several inches this year!
Here is Emmy with Mrs. Nunemaker.  Although both kids had a challenging third grade year (they both had 29 kids in their classes), they loved their teachers!
Landon and Mrs. Davis.  He said it wasn't even that weird being in her class even though she's known him since he was a baby.
After months of waiting, our brand new 2019 Jayco RV was done!  We love it so much more than our old RV that was cramped and old.

This slide out makes all the difference!  So much more spacious inside.

Kitchen, dining, and a couch (not pictured)

Master bedroom with queen bed

Double bunks for the kids and a friend

Bathroom and sink area
We took it camping and loved it.  There are a few things we need to add (more storage/shelves), but we really like it.
Matt home from his Canadian fishing trip.  He went with 3 other men and had a great time.  We were so glad to have him home again!
Picking blueberries at Beech Road with the Clarks (who mostly ate blueberries)!

Landon moved up to the minors in baseball.  He was on the Doc Weldy Veterinarian team and the kids pitched to each other.  He enjoyed playing.  I realized I'm not a huge fan of baseball (could be the 2 hour games!), but I will certainly go and support this sports loving boy!
I took this picture at the end of the last game and he got his first hit right after...I guess I should've been videotaping!

Bill and Matt did a great job coaching these young boys!

Emmy was proud of her brother too!

Landon's birthday parties

This kids LOVES all things sports, so when he mentioned having a baseball birthday party, I wasn't surprised! 🏈⚾🏀  Also, it was a super easy theme.  We had friends over on Saturday afternoon and family on Sunday.  Can't believe this kid is 9 already!!

It was a GORGEOUS day for a party.  The boys spent most of the time outside playing football and baseball.  Coach Matt helped keep the games moving. :)

Brayden, Dakota, Brendan, Greyson, Kyler, Landon, and Micah

I think they all had a good time and I'm sure they were all tired by the end of the afternoon!

Then on Sunday, we had Landon's family party.  It was another great day to celebrate Landon!

What a blessing Landon is to our family.  I can't wait to see how God's plans unfold in his life!

Chicago Trip!

We had a great short vacation in Chicago.  Landon loves baseball and he really wanted to see the Cubs play.  Emerson really didn't!  So she and I headed to Shedd Aquarium while the boys went to the game.  We had a nice time seeing a 4D movie, dolphin show, and all the animals.

We both really thought the sting ray touch was awesome!  The sting rays just floated by as you touched their backs.  They also had a starfish touch, but Em didn't like that one as much because the water was 50 degrees!

Front row for the dolphin show.  There were also penguins and a dog.

After the aquarium, since the boys were still at the game, we walked (2.5 miles!) to the American Girl store, where Emmy picked out a dog for her doll with a leash, and Lego store.  We were exhausted after this busy day.
Meanwhile, the boys were at the Cubs game.
They had a great time even though...
there were 3 rain delays!  The game started 1.5 hours late.  And sadly, the Cubs lost.  But Landon had a great experience.
We spent the night and decided to go to Willis Tower the next day.  Matt and I hadn't been up in years and the kids never had.

Landon wasn't too sure about going out in the glass box 103 floors above Chicago!

Afterwards, we had to stop at Giordanos and get some deep dish pizza.  The wait was 20 minutes, the pizza took about 45, but it was worth it!  So yummy!
A great end of summer adventure!
