Stitch Fix #8

Since I didn't keep anything in my last box, I scheduled a new fix to come soon after.  I still asked for some colorful pants and tops that aren't blouses, since that's mostly what I got in my last fix.  If you haven't heard of or used Stitch Fix before, check it out here: Stitch Fix

Here is what came in my box:
Froxx Vivyan Scoop Neck Knit Top $48
I liked this top a lot.  It was really comfortable and fit well.  The problem is that I have 2 black/white striped shirts already, so I didn't feel like I could buy a third. 😁
Returned
Kut from the Kloth Siena Cropped Pant $58
These pants are awesome!  They are really comfortable and I love the red!  When I asked for colored pants, this is what I had in mind.
Kept
Skies are Blue Hillsboro Mixed Material Hem Knit Top $54
Here's the front and back of this shirt.  It was really comfortable, but seemed a little plain for me.  It was also a bit too big.
Returned
Liverpool Mirabella Roll Cuff Skinny Jean $98
I loved the color of these pants as well.  Unfortunately, I could barely pull them up.  They were VERY tight.
Returned
41Hawthorne Valerie Tie Wrap Knit Top $48
This top was really comfortable and I liked the style.  Unfortunately, if you look at the picture below, you can see why I didn't keep it.
Returned
Yep, this dress I got in a previous fix!  Love the dress and wear it a lot, but the print is the same!!

Dutch Creek and Salamoni

We went to Dutch Creek Animal Farm in Shipshewana.  It was really cool.  There were so many different types of animals that I had never seen.  You could feed a lot of the animals.  We took a wagon ride to feed some of the bigger animals.  Landon loved the goat pen.  There were slides in and out of that pen.  There were also small animals to feed and hold.  My kids weren't too impressed with it for some reason, but I thought it was really cool.  I would definitely go back and visit.

We also went to a new campground, Salamoni, with the Davis crew.  We had a great time.  The campground had had a lot of rain (which was weird because it hadn't rained at our house for quite awhile).  Several of the sites were under water and so was the beach, which meant no swimming!  It was also really hot, so the kids had to find ways to keep cool.  We were close to the reservoir, but couldn't swim in it, so that was a bummer.  We rode bikes, boys played basketball, kids got wet with the hose, and had fun playing on the playground!
Graham and Easton liked hanging out with Emmy!

Emmy made bff necklaces for her and Kenna out of Legos.  She wears it all.the.time!

Home Improvements

I had been wanting to get rid of our carpet for awhile now, so I finally convinced Matt to go look at hardwood over spring break and we picked some out.  The last week of school, we had it installed and I love it!  It makes everything look better.  It definitely shows dirt (which I'm sure was always there but I couldn't see it) so I have to sweep more.  It's also not quite done.  The caulk needs put on and nail holes puttied.  Also, there are a few pieces of trim to be reattached and where the wood and carpet meet isn't done yet.

nice photobomb, Emmy :)

Also on the list of Matt didn't want to, but I can be quite convincing...was an above ground pool.  I saw a sale on them over Memorial Day and thought it'd be great for the kids (pool, hardwood floors, and puppy were all on my list 😁).  So the work began.  I had NO idea we'd have to do so much to get the pool ready.  We got 9 tons of sand to even out the ground, then had to build a brick wall to hold the sand in place.

After putting together the pool and filling it, this is what it looked like:
Yucky brown!!  I did a lot of searching online and YouTube to see what to do.  We also went to a pool store several times to have the water tested.  After 2 weeks, we couldn't wait any longer and we jumped in.  The water was still a little green, but the kids didn't mind!

We got a sand filter instead of the cruddy one it came with and the pool is looking good!  I was just excited once we could finally see the bottom!🏊  I can't wait to make some awesome memories in the pool.

End of the School Year

This year, our last day of school was on May 24th, crazy early!  We had 0 snow days so we got done before Memorial Day.  The kids finished their 2nd grade year and I finished my 15th year of teaching!
Landon had Mrs. Garey this year and loved her.  He was challenged by the new math curriculum and loved earning money that he could spend to buy things like pop and extra computer time.  He was sad when the last day came.

Emmy had Mrs. Clark and learned to be a great reader this year.  She made some new friends and enjoyed school as well.

I didn't get a picture of my class on the last day, but I had a good group.  It was challenging in that I had 26 kids all year.  That's a lot of kids, most I've ever had and I felt like I didn't know them as well as I have in years past.  But, I enjoyed watching them learn and grow and now move on to 4th grade!  And now on to summer!!😎

Stitch Fix #7

I got another box from Stitch Fix this spring.  If you aren't sure what this company is, you can check out the website here: Stitch Fix  It's so fun to get a package of clothes to try on!  I asked for fun spring/summer tops and colored pants in this fix.  Here's what I got:

Your Story Kesli Mixed Material Button Down Blouse $48

I liked this top quite a bit.  The front and back were different materials and I liked that.  I felt like it was too big on me though and there wasn't an exchange for a smaller size.
Verdict: Returned

Daniel Rainn Bettola Split Neck Blouse $64
This top I wasn't too crazy about.  The print was a little much for me and I didn't really want to pay that much for a shirt I don't love.
Verdict: Returned

Fun2Fun Kaley Henley Style Blouse $44
Mavi Aiden Colored Distressed Skinny Jean $98
This shirt was probably my least favorite.  I did not prefer the print.  It reminded me of curtains.  The jeans were pink, but when I held them up to a pair of my khaki pants, they were almost the same color.  When I asked for color on my pants, I wanted something more bright than these.
Verdict on both: Returned

Daniel Rainn Paula Pleated Henley Blouse $64
I really liked the color on this one and the sleeves are super cute.  Unfortunately, I thought this was a bit big and it was pretty see through.
Verdict: Returned
Each fix comes with a style sheet to give you some ideas on how to style each piece.
And the price sheet.  If you buy all 5 items, you get a 25% discount on the whole box.  Unfortunately, this time I didn't keep anything so I lost my $20 styling fee, but I didn't LOVE any of it, so I sent it back and scheduled another fix!
What do you think?  What would you keep?  What would you return?
