Chicago Trip

Emerson and Kenna, like most girls their age, are obsessed with the Disney movie, "Frozen".  Jessica saw that Disney was bringing "Frozen On Ice" to Chicago so we got tickets and surprised the girls!  Emerson was SOOO excited, she woke up at 5:30 that morning to get ready! ;)  The girls wore their matching Elsa dresses and got $12 (what???) snowcones at the show.  Poor Kenna dropped her spoon during the show and was quite upset about it, but other than that, I think they really liked it.  The show was basically like the movie, just with ice skaters!

 Meanwhile, at Legoland...
The boys went to enjoy the sites at Legoland.  They watched a 4D movie, rode a ride, and got to see all of the exhibits.  There just happened to be a Star Wars exhibit when they were there.  I think the little boys had fun, but not too sure about the dads.  They said there were people everywhere and it was hard to get around.

The funniest part of our day was trying to figure out dinner.  Traffic was pretty bad and all of the restaurants had several hours wait.  Some of them said they didn't have any seating until 9:00, which was 10:00 our time!  That was not going to work with 4 hungry kids.  So we took the kids to McDonalds, which they were thrilled with, and the adults got carry out from The Cheesecake Factory.  Win-win! :)  Good times with the Davis family!

Purdue basketball

We got to enjoy a free Purdue basketball game, thanks to being a member of the Boilermaker Kids' Club.  We went down and met Mikel, Jessica, Gunnar, and Clella at 5 Guys for lunch and then headed to the game.  We also got to sit with the Shaw's.  We had a great time watching the game (even though Purdue lost).  Emerson wasn't really into the game, but Landon enjoyed it all! Then on the way out, some guys stopped us and asked if we were staying for the Kid's Club events.  We didn't know anything about it, but are sure glad we stayed.  We got to go on the court and the kids' shot baskets, then we met some of the players, went to the practice gym, and got to see the locker room (which was pretty amazing!).

 Good family times at Purdue!

Upwards Basketball

Landon has been so excited about starting basketball and his enthusiasm shows on the court.  He runs all over and is learning the difference between playing offense and defense.  He has a great time each Saturday and is thrilled when he scores!  We had to explain to him that the game is just for fun and they don't keep track of points.  For a numbers guy like he is, that was pretty hard to understand for the first couple games.  They also have a Bible lesson and verse to memorize.  Their first verse was Philippians 4:4.  A great verse to remind us all to be joyful! :)  Looking forward to more games this season!

Number 5, so good on defense :)
