Florida Vacation- Cocoa Beach

We had been planning (and saving) for over a year to take the kiddos to Disney World so this year as soon as we were all done with school (June 1st) we boarded a plane to Orlando.  We decided to go to Cocoa Beach for a few days first.  That way if we happened to have some snow days to make up at the end of the year we could rearrange our flight and beach condo without having to worry about messing up our Disney plans.
"Zero Yeah!"  Emerson faithfully counted down from 56 to get to this day!
We left from the South Bend airport (very convenient) and flew on Allegiant.  Had a great experience.  The kids did great for their first time flying!  Emerson complained a bit about her left ear hurting on the landing.

Finally made it to our house by the beach (our rental SUV in the background).  The house was great.  There were 3 bedrooms and it was about a 10 minute walk to the beach.  The garage was stocked with beach toys, umbrellas, wagons, boogie boards, and bikes!  It was great!

First night at the beach.  "Try not to get too wet" :)

We spent our first day on the beach and loaded up on the sunscreen!  The kids LOVED the ocean.  They used the boogie boards and went out pretty deep.  They loved the waves and didn't mind getting knocked down or when a wave went over them.

After a full day at the beach, Emmy was still complaining about her ears, so we looked up an Urgent Care near the restaurant we wanted to go to.  Turns out she had a double ear infection! :(  Poor thing.  We got her some antibiotics and off she went.
I told her to look sad since she was at the doctor's office, but that didn't slow her down.  She is so photogenic.  I hardly even looked at her in the photos when I went to delete some of my 322 I had taken. :)  Usually it was Landon or myself who had the funny looks on our faces.  She was just smiling away!!
We ate at the Sandbar Restaurant (SO yummy).  We tried alligator and shark while in Florida.  The kids LOVED this restaurant.  Partly because it was their first experience with karaoke.  Landon, Emmy, and I got on stage to sing, "Jesus Take the Wheel" by Carrie Underwood.  So fun!
The next day we realized we were a bit sunburned (go figure!) so we spent the day at Ron Jon Surf Shop and mini golfing.

Back at the beach the next day!  Matt was such a trooper...the beach is not his favorite place to be.  But he got to do some fishing so I think that made it better!

 Eating at Fishlips :)

We loved our time in Cocoa Beach (Wed, June 1st to the morning of Sun, June 5th).  I would definitely go back.  The beach was nice, not too crowded, and there were TONS of shells.  The weather was perfect for the beach (a bit hot if you weren't by the water), but it is Florida!:)
