Disappointed for now

Well, this weekend did not turn out like Matt and I had imagined. I took a "mental health day" on Friday (if you worked with 8 year olds, you'd need one too!) to rest and relax before gearing up for one more week before spring break. We got a call from our adoption counselor who said that the support group meeting for today was cancelled because the speaker's daughter is in the hospital. She said that they would try to reschedule the meeting, but I couldn't help but feel disappointed by the news.
So then I thought, hmmm....what does that mean for us? I am really trying to listen to God through this process and at one point, I think, "Great, God has created this opportunity for us to learn more." And now I think, "Why are we STILL waiting!?!" But, I know He has a plan for us and I just need to be patient! Easier said than done! :)
On a positive note, though, we did go look at carpet samples and have two people coming out next week to measure and get estimates. Good-bye green carpet! Hopefully it can be done over spring break.
We also found a super great deal at Menards for an outdoor dining set. It is absolutely beautiful and we saved almost $100! Can't wait for it to get warm so we can put it together and use it along with our new grill. Bar-B-Q at the Hahn's!! :)

  1. Man, that must be so frustrating! But your faith in God is truly an amazing example, even though I know it must be hard! It will happen...I just know it :) Good bye green carpet :) I think I might miss it though :) Don't bring it over here :) Sign us up for the Hahn barbecue :) We had Jerry and Stacy over this week during the snow storm and grilled in the garage :) lots of love!

  4. Chin up, know that we love you! Totally understand the mental health day. We would also love to join you for the new bar-b-q and patio christening :) I will not let Mikel bring his food inside on the new carpet! Our drywallers are supposed to come this week so we will actually have walls again!
